Chelsea have confirmed the departure of defender Tomas Kalas to Championship club Bristol City.
The Czech Republic international was one of the longest serving players still at Stamford Bridge, having joined the club as a 17-year-old in 2010, signing from Czech club SK Sigman Olomouc.
The defender had spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Bristol City, making 38 Championship appearances and quickly becoming a fan favourite at Ashton Gate.
The 26-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the Robins after much interest in the defender from several football league clubs. Although the fee paid is undisclosed, it has been revealed that it is a club record for the Championship side.
Kalas has made four first team appearances for the Blues, including a start in the club's 2-0 win over Liverpool in April 2014.
The now Bristol City man has also enjoyed loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem, Cologne, Middlesbrough and Fulham.
Kalas will be looking to help the Robins improve on their 8th place finish last season, with the club aiming to push for the playoffs in order to help the club to their first ever season in the Premier League.
