Chelsea have confirmed the signing of England international Ben Chilwell from Leicester in a deal thought to be worth around £50m.
Manager Frank Lampard was known to be keen to strengthen in the left-back position, and is a big fan of Chilwell, who he has followed for a number of months.
The 23-year-old had another impressive Premier League campaign for the Foxes, making 27 appearances and scoring three goals and creating three assists.
But he clearly felt the time was right to move on from the King Power Stadium and joins a Chelsea side who have already splashed out on forward players Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Speaking following the announcement, Chilwell said: "I am delighted to be joining Chelsea at this very exciting time for the club.
"I’m looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honours next season.
"I can’t wait to get started and hopefully it won’t be long before we’re playing in front of the Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge."
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: "We are very pleased to have completed our third addition to our exciting squad for the coming season. Ben brings plenty of top-level experience playing in the Premier League, Champions League and at international level, despite his young age.
