Graham Potter's departure from Brighton for Chelsea was not well-received by the majority of Seagulls supporters, as was shown by the reception he received on his return to Amex Stadium in the Premier League, and the Blues don't look to be finished with Brighton assets.
Prior to Potter's appointment at Stamford Bridge, Marc Cucurella was the first to trade the South coast for west London in the summer, with Potter joining him a few months later. Moises Caicedo and Leandro Trossard, more so the latter, have also been linked with a possible future move to Chelsea.
However, the latest update regarding a possible departure from Brighton to Chelsea comes in the boardroom regarding Brighton head of recruitment Paul Winstanley. He looks set to join Bruno Saltor, Kyle Macaulay, Ben Roberts, Bjorn Hamberg and Billy Reid, a group Potter brought with him from Brighton immediately after his appointment at Chelsea.

The possible arrival of Winstanley highlights the overhaul done by Todd Boehly among background staff, with Petr Cech and Marina Granovskaia departing the club this year. While arriving in west London, looks set to be RB Salzburg's Christopher Vivell as Technical Director, adding to Southampton's head of recruitment Joe Shields and Laurence Stewart.
The talks involving Winstanley have taken place over the past few weeks, but there has been an important update which may signify his arrival could be imminent.
According to The Athletic, Winstanley has been placed on 'gardening leave' by Brighton, implying the deal between the clubs is close to completion as Winstanley can no longer influence any further proceedings at Brighton.
Winstanley has been responsible for playing a significant role in securing several impressive deals during his eight years at Brighton, with Leandro Trossard, Yves Bissouma, now of Tottenham, and Moises Caicedo all excelling at Brighton.
Karou Mitoma looks to be the latest gem unearthed by Brighton after he was brought in over the summer from J1 League side Kawasaki Frontale and the 25-year-old has grabbed two goals in his last two appearances.
