Chelsea have been dealt a potential transfer boost in their bid to land Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.
Haaland is said to be at the top of the Blues ' shortlist ahead of the summer but they face intense competition from a number of clubs around Europe.
The Norwegian striker has quickly become one of the most sought-after talents in Europe with Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern all linked with a move.
Haaland's representatives, including his father and agent, met with a number of clubs last week, and it seems a move could well be on ahead of this summer.
That's despite Dortmund standing firm over any talk of a move, wanting a mouth-watering £150million to sell Haaland this summer, according to reports, ahead of his £68million release clause coming into play next summer.
Chelsea were dealt a big blow when it was reported Haaland wanted only an 'absolute top club' with reports claiming the Blues did not fit into that.
But the West London club have since received a double boost thanks to the two Manchester clubs, firstly with Manchester City with Pep Guardiola recently saying: "With these prices it’s impossible – we cannot afford it. That’s not going to happen.
"All the clubs struggle financially and we are not an exception. We have Gabriel Jesus, Ferran Torres, players in the academy and we can play with a false nine.
"I don’t know what will happen. Maybe we will not buy one. Today, there is more chance that we will not buy one.
"We have enough players in the first team and interesting players, and, with the world economics, it's possible that we will not sign a striker for next season."
And reports now claim Manchester United will also look elsewhere, prioritising a centre-back and a winger over a striker this summer.
That could open the door for Chelsea with only Bayern and the two Spanish giants likely remaining in the race, and very few teams can actually afford the fee being touted.
