Chelsea captain Gary Cahill will only seal loan exit if club pays £130k-a-week wages in full

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is set to see out the last five months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are only prepared to loan him out if someone paid his salary of around £130,000-a-week in full.

Offers have been made from outside the capital, but the centre-half and his family are settled in the area and don’t want to move. Sources have suggested that he is prepared to see the season out with the Blues even though Maurizio Sarri has not picked him since November.

Watford have no intention of selling Abdoulaye Doucoure to Sarri’s men.

Chelsea have been linked with the 26-year-old French midfielder as they still have not replaced Cesc Fabregas, but Hornets boss Javi Gracia won’t entertain any interest until the summer and he favours an agreement with Paris Saint Germain.

Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater looks set to stay at the club for the rest of the season.

The former Leicester midfielder, who has not played since the Community Shield despite being fully fit, has been linked with West Ham, Bournemouth, Burnley and Fulham.

However, Standard Sport has learned that the only serious offers have come from abroad and the 28-year-old isn’t interested.
