Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel names the two Arsenal icons similar to Kai Havertz

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has compared Kai Havertz to former Arsenal forwards Dennis Bergkamp and Robin van Persie.

Havertz has enjoyed a productive campaign with the Blues, notching 13 goals and providing a further six assists - an impressive feat when you consider he is still just 22-years-old. The German international etched himself into the club's history books after netting the only goal of the game during last season's UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City and he came clutch again this term, scoring the winner in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup back in February.

Now, Blues boss Tuchel has heaped praise on the versatile attacker, comparing him to Dutch icons van Persie and Bergkamp, as well as former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur frontman Dimitar Berbatov. Speaking about the youngster to Premier League Productions, the former Paris Saint-Germain coach said: "I see a bit of Dennis Bergkamp, Robin van Persie, [Dimitar] Berbatov kind of player.

"He can play in the half position because he has good runs, but also feels free from the nine and creates overload to one side. When I watched him at Leverkusen, I didn’t know that I would coach him, when I watched him at Paris [Saint-Germain], they made him play as a nine which was very interesting.

"I remember when I watched a cup final against Bayern [Munich] with my staff and said, 'This could be a good role for him'." Havertz will hope to start on Sunday afternoon when Chelsea take on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-final, with the winner set to face Liverpool in May's final.
