Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he expects Cristiano Ronaldo to have a "huge impact" following his return to Manchester United.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who is set to make his second debut for the club when they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, returned to United on transfer deadline day after they successfully agreed a deal with Juventus.
The Portuguese ace, who left United back in 2009 to join Real Madrid, has returned to Old Trafford with the expectation that he will be able to help the club return to the top step of the English football pyramid and secure their first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.
For Chelsea chief Tuchel, who has experienced managing some of the best players in the world himself, including the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain, Ronaldo has all of the attributes to have a telling impact back in the Premier League.
"They were a super hard team to play against and beat last season," Tuchel said, as quoted by Sports Mole, when asked about how strong United could be this term. "They were close to winning a European trophy and finished second place.
"So they were strong before the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.
"I think he will have a huge impact. He is a true champion and has proved at any level, in any year, he can perform at outstanding levels.
"And don't forget, he will have an impact everyday with the group, it's not just goals and assists."
