Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri says he 'never hears' from Roman Abramovich as Man City loss leaves job in doubt

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri says he'll be "happy" if the club's owner Roman Abramovich calls to discuss his future because he "never hears from him".

The Blues boss is under mounting pressure after his side were thrashed 6-0 by Premier League leaders Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

The defeat was Chelsea's third in a row away from home in the Premier League, having also lost at Arsenal and Bournemouth, and they are yet to score outside of Stamford Bridge in 2019.

Such was the magnitude of the thrashing that they have fallen below Arsenal into sixth place on goal difference.

Bookmakers reacted by installing Sarri as favourite in the Premier League sack race, and in his post match television interview, the Italian suggested talks about his future were now inevitable, telling Sky Sports: "I think that will happen, it's normal. It's something that we need to do.

Later, speaking to the Italian media, Sarri admitted he was unsure about what would happen next.

“If the President calls, I’ll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him," he told Sky Italia.

"To be honest, I don’t know what to expect.”
