Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri makes bizarre Liverpool comparison with misfiring forward Gonzalo Higuain

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has made a bold Liverpool comparison.

The former Napoli boss believes Gonzalo Higuain can go on to emulate Luis Suarez.

Sarri made the prediction following the Blues 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

The 60-year-old coach said: "I remember Suarez at Liverpool in first season only scores three goals, then 16, then 24.

"But it's difficult to adapt to this Premier League. I think in the next season he will be able to score a lot."

Mohamed Salah aims dig at critics as he sends Liverpool team-mate Virgil van Dijk PFA warning

The ex-Red, who will come up against Jurgen Klopp's side for Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday, scored four goals in his first season.

Which is the same number the Argentinian has acquired since his arrival from AC Milan four months ago.

In the campaigns following Suarez transfer from Ajax to Liverpool in January, 2011, the Uruguayan went on to score 65 times for Liverpool in three years.

While the former-Argentina striker, Higuain, left fans feeling frustrated after straying offside five times against United.

The 31-year-old could have scored a last minute winner at Old Trafford but David de Gea was equal to his tame effort.
