Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been fined by the Football Association but will not serve a touchline ban after admitting a misconduct charge from the governing body.
The Italian was charged on Wednesday for his part in the confrontation with members of Burnley’s backroom staff during Monday’s feisty 2-2 Premier League draw at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri, who was sent to the stands in the 94th minute after leaving his technical area to argue against a decision made by referee Kevin Friend, had until Friday to respond, but the FA announced on Thursday afternoon that he had admitted the charge and subsequently been fined £8,000 - the standard amount for such an offence.
A spokesperson wrote: "Maurizio Sarri has been fined £8,000 after he admitted a misconduct charge from The FA and accepted the standard penalty.
"It concerned his behaviour in the 94th minute of Monday’s [22/04/2019] game between Chelsea and Burnley in the Premier League."
Sarri was also understood to be incensed at the alleged abuse aimed at him by members of Burnley’s backroom staff, with a touchline spat ensuing in west London.
However, no further FA charges have been forthcoming and both clubs released identical statements to confirm that the issues had now been resolved.
"Issues arising between both benches during Monday night’s match have been resolved between the coaches and clubs, and a line has been drawn under the matter," Chelsea wrote on their official website after Burnley had done likewise via Twitter.
