Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has issued an update on key midfielder Hakim Ziyech ahead of Tuesday night's clash with Krasnodar in the Champions League.
The Moroccan limped off with a hamstring injury after half an hour on Saturday during the 3-1 Premier League win over Leeds United.
The Blues had hoped the 27-year-old's injury would not be too serious with the manager confirming post match his summer signing would be assessed in the coming days.
And speaking in his pre-match press conference on Monday lunchtime, Lampard confirmed Ziyech is having a scan on the injury later in the day to see the extent of the problem.
"He is going for a scan this afternoon, so I will have more information later," said Lampard. "I hope it's a minor injury. Long-term I am not worried about him at all."
The boss also revealed another player is out of the game against the Russians, saying: "Callum Hudson-Odoi is also out with a hamstring problem."
The pair's absence is blow for Lampard and Chelsea who are looking to finish the group stages on a high at Stamford Bridge.
Ziyech had an injury-disrupted start to the season and only made his Chelsea debut in the middle of October.
Since then he has managed to score twice in 13 appearances.
Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, has been in and out of the side so far in 2020/21.
He has made just five appearances in the league but featured more in the cup competitions, scoring three times in 12 games.
It's unclear how long he will be sidelined for.
