Chelsea behind the scenes as Michy Batshuayi set to be sold and double transfer swoop discussed

It has now been over a month since Arsenal last kicked a ball in any competition. The coronavirus pandemic means that football in most countries around the world has been suspended.

It is still unknown when the Premier League will return, but while there may not be too much to talk about on the field, there is still plenty of things going on off the field to provide fans with their football fix.

So, that means that Chelsea correspondent Oliver Harbord still had plenty to talk about during a Q&A with Blues’ fans on Facebook on Friday afternoon.

Topics covered ranged from the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge to the Inevitable transfer talk.

There were also questions about who could leave the club in the summer, with Michy Batshuayi being picked out as one potential departure.

“I think looking at people heading out, I think you probably have to look at Michy Batshuayi,” Harbord said.

“Now would be the time to sell him and to bring in another striker to be backup. If they can get the money for Michy.

“It’s a bit of a shame when he has had the few chances, and to be fair to him, he’s not been given a lot of chances, but there is obviously something missing there because it is every coach that hasn’t really given him a chance whether it be Conte, Sarri or Lampard.

“Even his time at Valencia, the one good stint he had was probably at Borussia Dortmund. It’s difficult. With Michy, I think he will be one (to be sold).”

Other questions touched on Chelsea’s interest in Jadon Sancho, Philippe Coutinho and Alex Telles as well as the implications the current situation could have on transfer funds.
