Chelsea and Tottenham eye up move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana

Chelsea and Tottenham are tracking Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana but face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

The Cameroon international, 24, is set to become the latest star to leave the Dutch club this summer for around £25m, following in the footsteps of the likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong, who have moved on to Juventus and Barcelona respectively.

Onana played against both London clubs in the Champions League in the last two seasons, including a chaotic 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge in November.

Chelsea and Spurs are seeking new No.1s with the futures of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Hugo Lloris both uncertain, and see Onana as a potential perfect replacement.

But French-speaking Onana is reported in France to favour a move to PSG even if he is initially as understudy to Keylor Navas.

And Onana, who renewed his contract in March last year until June 2022, is also on the shortlist of his first club Barcelona with Marc-Andre ter Stegen refusing to extend his contract.

He recently suggested he would be interested in a return to the Nou Camp, telling Canal+ Afrique : "It’s hard to say because with FC Barcelona, I am still in very good relations with the president, the coaches.

"As I said earlier, Barca is my home. If I have to go back, I will go back. But today we are still far from it. I’m the Ajax goalkeeper and we’ll see what happens at the end of the season.

"I only take care of the ball game, what happens at the stadium. The rest are my agents who manage."

Chelsea have already made one signing from Ajax this season, with midfielder Hakim Ziyech to join the team in the summer after the two clubs agreed a fee of around £35m in February.
