Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel can deny Jurgen Klopp his greatest Liverpool achievement

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that it would be one of his "biggest achievements" if he was to guide his side to a top four finish in the Premier League this season.

The Reds moved to within just just one point of Chelsea in fourth place with a dramatic 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion yesterday afternoon, as goalkeeper Alisson netted a last-gasp winner when deciding to come up and try and get on the end of a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner.

Alisson's goal means that Chelsea will enter tomorrow evening's crunch top-four showdown with Leicester City with the Reds firmly breathing down their necks, knowing that any slip-up against the Foxes could be pounced upon by Klopp's charges at Burnley on Wednesday evening.

Considering Liverpool stormed their way to the Premier League title last season, few would have predicted that they would be chasing down the top four with just two games of this season to go this time around. However, with injury troubles having hampered their season, achieving a top four finish and a place in the UEFA Champions League next season would be a huge achievement, according to Klopp.

Klopp told Sky Sports: "It would be massive, absolutely massive. It would be one of the biggest achievements ever. I know how that sounds. I know.

"But it is the truth. Everybody sees it like that. If you wanted to write a book about a season and wanted to be depressive afterwards you would probably take this season.

"You would read it and think 'wow, that happened and then that happened!' Most of the things that don't go into the public. We really have had a lot of things to deal with, but here we are.

"Whatever has happened this year it has still given us the chance to hold our destiny in our own hands with two games [left to play].

"We are looking forward to the game with Burnley; it is a different mindset and a different mood, but we know how tough it will be. It will be the first time for ages that supporters have been inside the stadium at Turf Moor.

"Sean Dyche is a proper competitive guy. The team lost against Leeds pretty clear, so they will want to strike back. It will be a tough one, but qualifying for the Champions League should be tough, so I have no problem with that.

"We just have to make sure that we are ready. We have two days to prepare for it, somehow."

With Klopp having challenged his players to make their most of their last two matches and urge them to keep their foot firmly planted to the floor in a bid to break into the top four, Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel could be the ones that deny him that ambition.

A win for the Blues at home to Leicester tomorrow evening would see them move on to 67 points, four clear of Liverpool ahead of their clash with Burnley 24 hours later.

That would shift the pressure back onto the Reds' shoulders, and leave Leicester City as the side facing the possibility of being overhauled by Liverpool.

However, the Foxes would still hold a three-point advantage over Liverpool, even if they lose at Stamford Bridge, meaning Klopp's men would need a victory to go above them.
