Chelsea and Manchester United dealt transfer blow in chase for Erling Braut Haaland

Erling Braut Haaland is one of the most talked about young strikers in Europe this season.

It is no surprise seeing that he has scored 28 goals in 22 appearances for Bundesliga side Red Bull Salzburg this season. With the January transfer window just around the corner, it is likely that the teenager's name will be one that will keep popping up in the gossip columns.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with moves for the 19-year-old Norwegian international during the January window, but, if latest reports are to be believed, then both face a fight for the striker.

Jose Mourinho: Harry Kane is fantastic

According to Tottosport , the striker is close to agreeing a deal with Italian giants Juventus, with talks going on between the club and the player over the last few days.

The report claims that Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola is the intermediary for the deal.

It is also claimed that there are close links between Haaland's current club RB Salzburg and Juventus, which will facilitate the deal.

Haaland was said to be one of Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top targets during the window, having worked with the youngster during his time at Molde.

While Chelsea are looking to sign another striker to provide more competition to Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi, with Olivier Giroud heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
