Chelsea and Manchester City learn likely Champions League final destination after complications

The Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea is set to be played at Porto's Estadio do Dragao, according to reports in Turkey.

The final on May 29 was initially meant to be played in Istanbul, Turkey, but the country has been placed on the UK's 'red list' due to the high coronavirus rate.

UEFA are keen on having fans in the stadium for the huge match and with two Premier League clubs competing, it has made it very difficult to fly over to Turkey.

There have been discussions over UEFA moving the fixture elsewhere, with talks of Wembley, but fresh reports coming out of Turkey suggest that a destination may have been decided on.

According to media in Turkey, including TV station HaberTurk, the match between Chelsea and Man City could now take place at Porto's Estadio do Dragao with Portugal being on the UK's green list.

Various reports suggest that there are a number of obstacles to overcome before making a definitive decision on where the match will be played - including sponsorship and international broadcasting issues.

However, Porto has emerged as a potential venue, following on from last season's final that took place in Portugal also - at Sporting Lisbon Benfica's Estadio da Luz.

City will be looking to win their first-ever Champions League title after beating Paris Saint-Germain over two legs in the semi-final.

Pep Guardiola is desperate to get his hands on the prestigious trophy once again, with the Catalan not winning the tournament since his days in charge of Barcelona.

However, City face a really difficult task against an in-form Chelsea side, who beat the newly-crowned Premier League champions on Saturday evening.

But Guardiola will now be doing his homework on how to exploit different areas in Tuchel's set-up before the showdown - wherever it will be played - later this month.
