Chelsea already have edge on Liverpool over summer transfers as Jurgen Klopp makes key admission

Jurgen Klopp has delivered his verdict on Liverpool's upcoming transfer plans, admitting that the club will have to resolve issues regarding players leaving before they can think about signing anyone.

The Reds have been linked to a plethora of attacking talent, including Jadon Sancho and Kylian Mbappe but Klopp is more worried about the players he currently has at his disposal, comments which offer a boost to Chelsea.

"The business depends on what happens if somebody wants to leave, if players want to go if we sell, stuff like this... and this is why we can never really plan early,” Klopp confessed.

Klopp's side currently sit seven points behind Chelsea, who are fourth. However, the Blues have played two more games than the Merseyside club.

While Klopp has admitted the impending difficulties Liverpool will face in the transfer market, Chelsea are unlikely to suffer from the same problems.

The West London club spent over £200 million last summer and are likely to dip back into the transfer market in the coming months with a number of strikers, including Erling Haaland tipped to come to Stamford Bridge.

New Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has propelled his side up the table and has also impressed in the cups too, reaching the final of both the Fa Cup and the Champions League.

This success is likely to be rewarded as the German coach will look to bring in some of his own players to suit his tactical plans with rumours surrounding a number of prolific strikers circulating. And Liverpool's hesitancy in the market could be of benefit to Chelsea.
