Chelsea accelerate Matthijs de Ligt talks as West Ham set Declan Rice transfer stance

Chelsea fans are still waiting patiently for their first signing of the summer as the wait continues for an arrival. However, with reports suggesting Thomas Tuchel has over £200million to spend from new owner Todd Boehly, it could soon be a busy period.

It’s not just the potential arrivals at Stamford Bridge either, as the German coach looks to transform his squad. A number of key players have already left, with Romelu Lukaku making the loan switch to Inter Milan.

The likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have also been linked with a move away from the club this summer. With that said, football.london takes a look at the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Matthijs de Ligt talks

Chelsea are continuing to make progress in talks with Juventus over a move for Matthijs de Ligt this summer, according to the Telegraph. The centre-back is said to be a priority for the Blues this summer as they look to fill the void left by backline departures.

The 22-year-old currently has two-years remaining on his deal with the Bianconeri, with reports adding there are talks over a possible extension.

Declan Rice stance

West Ham have no intention of letting midfielder Declan Rice leave in the transfer market, reports Fabrizio Romano in his Caught Offside column. It comes after the Blues held transfer interest in the England midfielder for over two-years.

Rice is said to have rejected a contract extension with the Hammers, as his deal expires in 2024, so Romano adds a transfer may be more likely next year.

Raphinha problem

Barcelona are convinced they will be able to hijack Chelsea’s move for Raphinha this summer, according to journalist Gianluigi Longari. The Blues had agreed a deal worth roughly £60million with Leeds in recent days according to reports.

However, despite that, the Blaugrana are said to have agreed personal terms with the Brazilian, but are yet to match the current asking price.
