Chefs from Bristol's top restaurants to host one-off banquet

Chefs from some of Bristol's best restaurants are teaming up to host a one-off banquet at this year's Food Connections Festival.

The people behind Bellita, Casamia and Root are just some of those from Bristol's food scene putting on the sustainable banquet on June 17.

The event will be held at Colston Hall, with cocktails served from 6pm. Tickets are on sale through TicketSellers at £46, with all proceeds going to  Bristol Food Producers.

Guests can expect to feast on some of the finest quality food on offer, getting to taste sustainable dishes from the chefs behind Michelin-starred restaurants Poco Tapas, Casamia and the Pony & Trap, in Chew Magna.

These chefs will be collaborating to assemble a multi-course banquet in which every dish and course will relate to sustainable food.

The themes of the night will include animal welfare, plant-based ingredients, education on food safety and diets, ingredients grown with respect for the earth and oceans and more.

Who are the chefs involved?

Peter Sanchez: Chef patron at Michelin-starred Poco Tapas and Casamia - which was recently voted as the best UK restaurant outside of London .

Rob Howell: Head chef at Root.

Geneveive Taylor and Jo Ingleby , of FoodFireEarth : Geneveive is a writer and presenter, who is also co-char of the guild of food writers. Jo was BBC cook of the year for 2015, and teaches cookery at several schools.

Romy Gill MBE: Chef patron at Romy's Kitchen.

Ian Clark : Head Chef at Poco Tapas Bar – which was named the UK's best sustainable restaurant in 2016 and 2018.
