Chef says we've all been breaking Toblerone up wrong and it's left everyone puzzled

In a revelation that has left many chocoholics positively stunned, a top chef has advised that you've most likely been breaking up your Toblerone completely wrong for years, "ruining" it in the process.

Chef Koudy, who regularly shared tasty cooking content with his foodie followers, has left fans rather divided after revealing his go-to method, and some even reckon the 'wrong' way is still best.

In a video uploaded via TikTok, Koudy could be seen pinching together the first two peaks of the iconic triangular treat with his finger and thumb, pushing the second one against the first to snap it cleanly off.

Declaring this to be the "right way" to eat Toblerone, Koudy, who goes by the username @chefkoudy, asked his followers, "Do you know Toblerone should be pushed together to break?"

He then went on to share the wrong way - ripping off the first triangle on the beloved Swiss chocolate bar without using the second one as a makeshift lever.

According to Koudy, who could be seen clasping his hands to his face in horror to drive the point home, this widely used method "ruins it", but not everybody agrees.

Not everyone is too keen on the 'right' way (Toblerone)

One person wrote: "I don't get it the second one is basically the first but more hygienic if you're sharing."

Another agreed: "You're touching two of them in the first one and only one in the second way!"

Some chocolate aficionados just couldn't see how the two approaches to Toblerone demolishing were that much different, arguing that it "changes literally nothing", while others admitted they eschewed both methods and simply tore into it using their teeth.

A third person confessed: "Bro I used to eat the chocolate like I just bite it, I never knew you were supposed to break it."

For those worried about germs, a third way - which involves tapping the outer piece inwards without touching the second - could well be the answer, as demonstrated in a 2014 viral video uploaded by YouTuber Kaitlin Crawford.
