Anand George, the brains behind Indian restaurant Purple Poppadom and street food stall Tukka Tuk, is to open a food stall at Cardiff Market.
Called Dosaa Indian Canteen - in a nod to a 'dosa' which is a thin rice pancake filled with various tasty fillings - it will serve south Indian specialities, traditional curries and street food and be part of the ever-growing foodie culture at the indoor market, which sits side-by-side with the traditional fare sold there for decades.
The stall will take over units 219-223 upstairs at the balcony of Cardiff Market, next to The Naked Vegan and Ffwrnes food stalls.
A spokeswoman for Anand, who opened popular restaurant Purple Poppadom eight years ago on Cardiff's Cowbridge Road East, said: "We can confirm that Anand George will be coming to Cardiff Market with his latest project.
"Dosaa Indian Canteen will be serving authentic cuisine inspired by Southern India and dosas will feature on the menu. Dosaa Indian Canteen will be launched at Cardiff Market at the end of January."

Purple Poppadom has appeared in the Michelin Guide, The Good Food Guide and Harden's Guide for its menu, but it isn't the only venture that has seen Anand win over diners in Wales.
The chef also runs street food truck, Tukka Tuk, which can be seen serving its masala fries at events and markets during the street food season.
