Cheese selection recalled due to undeclared nuts posing allergy risk

A dairy company has issued a recall for one of its products due to the presence of nuts posing as an allergy risk.

Lactalis McLelland Ltd is recalling its President Mini Cheese Selection as it does not mention that the product may contain nuts on the label, making it a health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts.

Anyone who has bought the product is advised not to eat it and return it to the store they bought it from for a full refund.

A statement from the Food Standards Agency reads: "Lactalis McLelland Ltd is recalling the above product from customers and have been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is/products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product(s). Please see the attached notice."
