Cheeky Scots prankster tricks Asda shopper with hilarious security alarm wind up

This is the hilarious moment a cheeky Scots prankster tricks an unsuspecting Asda shopper into thinking she is triggering a security alarm.

Josh Westgarth was waiting on his pals at the supermarket just off Dundee's Kingsway on Saturday night when he spotted an opportunity to cause some havoc.

As he sits on the mobility scooter at the store's entrance around midnight, a woman makes to leave with a trolley full of shopping.

Just as she goes through the doors, the 18-year-old beeps the scooter's horn, which sounds exactly like the security scanner alarm.

The bewildered victim goes back for a second and third go, growing more confused as Josh and his pal struggle to hide their laughter.

Finally the woman seeks help from an Asda staff member as the lads erupt in a fit of giggles.

But Josh, from Dundee, says she saw the funny side and laughed along with the joke when he went up to reveal she wasn't a thief and that he was in fact behind the mystery beep.

He told the Record: "I saw her coming and was sitting on this scooter left outside the shop waiting on my pal.

"I couldn't resist having a rip at it.

"She didn't get angry though! Her and the Asda worker knew we were just some silly kids having a wee laugh on a Saturday night.

Josh's brilliant clip has racked up over 740,000 views since he uploaded it on Twitter early on Monday morning and has been shared by 6,400 people and liked 27,600 times.

The joker says Dundee players have liked the video and he's had messages from kids wanting to emulate his antics.

But he's not letting his new-found fame get to his head.

Josh added: "People from America have been in touch telling me it's a trend over there with kids doing it at Walmart shops.

"People have walked into my work since as well and recognised me from it, it's crazy. Also had kids have been saying they want to be like me, but I'm setting a bad influence.

"We were just having a laugh!"
