Cheeky monkey uses zookeeper's phone to order food shop delivery online

A zookeeper was stunned to find a baboon had used her phone to order a food shop online.

Lv Mengmeng, who works at Yancheng Wildlife Animal World in Jiangsu, east China, went to get food for the monkey while he was left in a room where she keeps her phone.

She had placed a list of groceries in the shopping cart on the mobile app Taobao, China's equivalent of Amazon, and was waiting for discounts celebrating Single Day on Nov 11 before confirming the order.

But after returning to the room, she was stunned to find the order has been placed by the mischievous primate.

Mengmeng was left baffled and asked to review the surveillance camera footage of the room.

To her surprise, the clip, filmed on November 6, shows the clever baboon running across the room and reaching for the zookeeper's phone when she leaves the room.

It is seen holding the electronic device with two hands before swiping it left and right.

Mengmeng explained that she has been taking care of the baboon for a long time.

She told Jiangsu Public TV Channel: "We are spending a lot of time together. I use my phone to order goods from Taobao all the times

"Perhaps it copies my moves and knows how to place an order.

"I came back to the room and received messages of 'order confirmation' and I thought it could be pranks from other colleagues.

"But then I realised it was actually the baboon!"

A few days later, she received the delivery and decided to keep it.

"They are items of necessity anyway, I'm just sad that some of the items are not on discounts," she added.
