The Georgia Bulldogs knocked off the Florida Gators 24-17 Saturday, for their third straight win in the rivalry.
Despite all the 1980 jokes from rival fans and continued talk on Georgia struggling in big games, this stat proves just why the Bulldogs have Kirby Smart.
Though we’ll always be fans of Mark Richt and are thrilled he’s ok after that scary incident a few weeks ago, Georgia hired Smart for games like these.
Their regular season records may be comparable, but Smart has started out 3-1 in the cocktail party, with two of the three wins not really all that close.
The Bulldogs had 9 Top 10 wins from 2002-2015 under Richt, with 7 under Smart already in his first four years as coach. As we already mentioned, we are not trying to slander Richt because we love him, but are quite impressed with Smart.
