Check out the Rams’ home-field advantage in ‘Madden 22’

The Los Angeles Rams have played one season at SoFi Stadium, but they don’t yet know what their home-field advantage will be like at the $5 billion building. Fans weren’t allowed to attend Rams home games last year, forcing the team to play each of its eight home games in an empty stadium.

In “Madden NFL 22,” each team will have at least a slight advantage when playing at home. For example, at Lumen Field in Seattle, the away team’s play art will be difficult to read. At SoFi Stadium, the Rams don’t gain a huge edge, but stops on defense will give them some added momentum.

EA released the home-field advantage for every team in the NFL Thursday and for the Rams, it’s as follows: “Home team gains bonus momentum for defensive stops.”

It’s not the best advantage, but it beats the Cowboys’: opponent punt distances are shortened when kicking across the 50-yard line. Players won’t notice that much, to be honest.

At least EA is trying to add elements to the game to make it more realistic, but some of the home-field advantages simply miss the mark – or flat-out take a shot at the team, like Washington’s “unstable ground” edge for FedExField’s terrible playing surface.
