Businesses must register with the Check In CBR system by Saturday to comply with ACT's public health direction.
Restricted businesses, which refer to businesses previously affected by COVID-19 restrictions, that do not register with the app can face fines.
It will also be mandatory for patrons to check in with Check In CBR.
Businesses owned by an individual can face a $1000 fine and businesses owned by a corporation can face a $5000 fine for not complying.
Businesses can use the app to check in patrons who do not have access to a smartphone.
Individuals who refuse to check in at a business can face a $1000 fine.
A statement from Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith and Business Minister Tara Cheyne said over 8000 businesses and venues have registered with the app and over 396,000 individuals have downloaded the app.
Information on the app will only be accessed, if needed, for contact tracing and information will be deleted after 28 days.
Patrons can report a restricted business or venue via an online form if there is not a Check In CBR QR code available.
Businesses can register with the app via www.covid19.act.gov.au/business-and-work/check-in-cbr.
