Check how much Brexit has affected your holiday money

The value of the pound has seen ups and downs since the historic vote of Brexit three years ago.

After much turmoil, the pound is now at a 23-month low against the euro meaning that £1 is now only worth €1.09.

If you've already been on holiday to Europe this summer, you're probably wondering how much you actually got for your buck whilst away.

And if you're still to jet away, then you're also probably wondering how many euros you would have got before the Brexit vote, compared to how much you'll be offered today.

To help holiday makers judge how much cash to convert, the M.E.N has created a new gadget that allows you to compare the conversion rate for your holiday spending money, pre and post the Brexit descision.

Before the referendum, the pound would have got you a much more favourable €1.31, meaning that those San Miguels and Sangrias were quite a bit cheaper back in 2016.

If you're going to Europe this summer and you'd like to find out how much the Brexit vote has cost you, simply enter the amount of cash you’re planning on changing in the gadget above.
