Aldi has been named the cheapest UK supermarket once again - beating rival Lidl by 73p.
Consumer website Which? found a basket of 23 items from Aldi cost £24.24 on average in October 2021, compared to £24.97 at Lidl.
Meanwhile, the most expensive supermarket was more than £9 pricier than Aldi.
Which? found shoppers paid £33.81 last month for an equivalent basket of groceries at Waitrose.
The second priciest was found to be Ocado where the average cost was £29.95.
Out of the Big Four grocers, Asda was the cheapest, coming third overall with an average price of £25.94 for a basket of 23 items.
Sainsbury’s came fourth (£27.71) just ahead of Morrisons (£28.31) while Tesco was the most expensive (£28.64).
Which? compared the prices of own-brand and branded goods as part of its monthly supermarket check.
Food that had the biggest price differences included own-label seedless grapes and own-label melon, while PG Tips tea bags varied the most in terms of branded items.
In terms of a bigger shop, which included 77 items, Asda came out cheapest with an average price of £143.21, followed by Sainsbury’s at £145.56.
Morrisons followed in third with an average price of £150.26, then Ocado at £154.40 and Tesco with a price of £156.72.

Waitrose again came out the most expensive with the final bill coming in at £164.91.
Which? doesn’t include Aldi and Lidl in its biggest shop comparison as it includes a larger range of branded items that aren’t available in the discounters.
Aldi was also the cheapest supermarket in September 2021, but Lidl was the winner in August 2021.
