Now that summer has officially ended, and the cold days and dark nights are approaching, it is the perfect time to book an autumn getaway.

There are a number of popular destinations around the world that you can fly to from Edinburgh Airport.

However, with the cost of living crisis continuing to worsen, and energy prices set to rise at the start of October, many households are unable to afford a pricey holiday.

Fortunately, there are a number of holiday hotspots you can fly to direct from Edinburgh for a bargain price.

To help you plan that much-needed October getaway, Edinburgh Live took to Skyscanner to round up all of the return flights that can be booked in October for under £30.

Estonia

You can book a return flight to the Estonian capital of Tallinn for just £21 this October. Important spots in this vibrant city include its historic Old Town, the Lennusadam Seaplane Harbour, and Kadriorg Park.

France

There are a number of French cities you can fly to for a bargain price this October, including Nimes, Beziers, Carcassonne, Marseille, and Bordeaux. While perhaps not as exciting as Paris, these destinations would be perfect for a more relaxed and low-key holiday.

Denmark

Perhaps one for the families, you can fly to Billund for just £24 in October. While you may be unfamiliar with the name, it's home to the original Legoland theme park.

Croatia

If it's something a little warmer you're after, then you'll be pleased to hear that you can fly to Zadar for £26. Being on Croatia's Dalmatian coast, and with temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius in October, it could be perfect if you're looking to soak up some sun.

Latvia

Another top choice if you're looking for a city break, you can fly to the Latvian capital of Riga for just £26. Particular highlights of the cultural centre include the Old City Riga, the House Of The Black Heads, and the KGB Building.

Sweden

While it likely won't be any warmer than Edinburgh, you can fly to Gothenburg in October for £29. The city is the second largest in Sweden and includes the Liseberg theme park and the stunning Botanical Garden.

Italy

Some of the more populous cities in Italy are a fair bit more expensive, but you can fly to Turin for £30 and it still has plenty to offer. Being an important cultural centre, it is known for its refined architecture and cuisine.
