Cheap Trick are coming to Newcastle.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are joining Bush and Stone Temple Pilots at Under The Southern Stars which is being held at Camp Shortland Field on May 1.
Rose Tattoo and Electric Mary are the support acts. US band Live had to withdraw from the line-up due to scheduling conflicts.
Cheap Trick are one of the most influential classic-rock groups of the past 50 years. They are releasing their 20th album, Another World, on April 9, and their hits include The Flame, I Want You To Want Me, Dream Police and Surrender.
UTSS promoter Andrew McManus said: "We are very excited to now be able to announce Cheap Trick as an addition to the line-up. Being the first live-on-stage International tour, we are aware the eyes of the world will be on us championing the re-opening of live International touring not only in Australia but globally. Under The Southern Stars '21 will be part of history, and I urge fans to get in quickly and applaud all for supporting live music and the whole entertainment sector so badly damaged by COVID."
All existing UTSS ticketholders will be contacted directly via email in the coming days and provided options.
New tickets are being released for sale on February 5 through underthesouthernstars.com.au.
