Getting rid of moss from paving slabs and front lawns can be a tough job as it is a resilient plant that does not give up its territory easily.
While it can add a certain charm to an area, it can also be a bit of a terror as it is difficult to remove and even when you do, it can spring back in no time at all.
Homeowners and renters alike are often left strapped for ideas on what to do when the dreaded moss returns.
Thankfully, cleaning gurus and tipsters on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group have been on hand to help.

Helpful fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch - real name Sophie Hinchliffe - have revealed a hack to get rid of moss for good without using chemicals. Instead, all you need is one simple household product.
In a recent post, one woman wrote: "Hey all, we moved recently and have noticed our back garden, where the slabs are, keep going green almost like mould.
"We jet washed it a week or two ago but it's back again. Does anyone know what is causing this? Or if there's anything I can use to stop it coming back? It also does seem to stain."
After posting, some were quick to suggest chemical options but she has also received a flurry of advice recommending one simple product to get rid of it for good - washing powder.
One person commented: "Sprinkle Daz washing powder on it then leave for the rain to wash off or hose it."
While another suggested: "I sprinkle Aldi biological washing powder on the patio and driveway, where we get green moss. Washing powder kills the moss, just sprinkle, you don't need to scrub - it looks like snow!

"We get a lot on the drive, it's in the shade. My neighbour asked me about it, did the same and it got rid of his moss too."
Many others were quick to advise variations of this hack, as one stated: "Sprinkle with soap powder whilst the ground is damp so it can absorb the powder."
And another penned: "I had the same problem and being on a huge area was also a problem. I used a box of biodegradable washing powder.
"Just sprinkle over the moss and leave! That was two years ago and it's never returned."
