Che Adams has insisted he is 100 percent committed to Scotland and hasn’t just made the switch because the team has qualified for Euro 2020.
The Southampton striker agreed to make the switch from England after talks with Steve Clarke.
The 24-year-old, who qualifies for Scotland through the grandparent, previously turned down Scotland under Alex McLeish but now feels the time is right.
Adams said: “It has come at the right time.
“A lot of people will be saying it is because of the Euros and stuff but I don’t think that is the case.
“I have held talks with the gaffer and Stu (Armstrong) and they have recommended it highly. I just want to be a part of it.
“I just feel it has come at the right time. I was younger back then. I didn’t really know my body and how I would adapt but I now feel I am at the right age.”

The former Birmingham frontman admitted it was national boss Clarke that convinced him his future should be north of the border.
Adams admitted: “He convinced me a lot.
“I have seen videos online and it is just something I want to be part of.
“It can take my game to another level playing for Scotland and I can’t wait to get going.”
The Saints star admitted the excitement and videos from the Euro 2020 qualification, including the David Marshall conga celebrations, convinced him the Scotland squad was something he wanted to be part of. That was added to after conversations with his Southampton and new Scotland team-mate Armstrong.
He stated: “I saw the David Marshall video online.
“As soon as I saw that I wanted to be a part of it.
“The lads have been great and I can’t wait to get going and to put my trust into the manager.
“As a player you want to feel comfortable and the boys have certainly made me feel that.
“I know Stuart from club level. He has helped me to settle in and I can’t wait to get going.
“I have spoken to him a couple of times and I spoke to the gaffer as well and that helped me make up my mind.”
