Chasers nightclub in Kingswood closed 'for the near future'

It has been the location for many couple's first dance and first kiss, but bosses at Chasers nightclub in Kingswood have said it will be closed now for the foreseeable future.

The club, like all nightclubs, has suffered in the past two years under covid lockdowns and restrictions which have meant they were always the first to be shut down and the last to be allowed to reopen.

The club, and its associated bar The Chase Inn, were closed for 16 months from March 2020 until late July last year, but have been open ever since, after Covid restrictions were lifted.

But now, in a sudden announcement on their social media channels, both Chasers and The Chase Inn said they were closing and not reopening 'in the near future'.

The statement from the owners said: "We regret Chasers will not be reopening in the near future.

"We will be working hard and investing in the building to offer a better experience moving forward, this cannot happen overnight but will be a gradual move into a new future. We ask for your understanding and support in this matter," the statement added.

Chasers has attained legendary status in Bristol - and beyond, thanks to being referenced by local comedians like Russell Howard and Stephen Merchant.

When the club reopened in late July last year, the bosses said then the club had undergone a refurbishment to be ready.

The club continued to be open right through last autumn and winter, with party-goers enjoying many weekly club nights, live DJ sets and a huge New Year's Eve party in recent weeks.
