Chase Young has declared for the NFL draft and there’s a good chance he’ll play with familiar faces next year

Chase Young has declared for the NFL Draft.

Young’s junior season was one of the most dominant of any defender in college football history. He secured Ohio State’s single-season sacks record, won numerous awards, was a Heisman finalist, all while being suspended for two games.

It didn’t stop there though.

Young was also awarded the Bronko Nagurski Award as the nation’s top overall defender. It was just an incredible season for the 6-foot-5 defensive end, finishing the season with 16.5 sacks and 46 total tackles.

“I look forward to joining a new family the NFL this spring and being part of something special. Thank you all again and see you soon on Sundays. God bless and go Bucks!” Young wrote.

That new NFL family will likely be the Washington Redskins with the Cincinnati Bengals almost guaranteed to take Joe Burrow No. 1 overall. That would mean the 2018 Buckeyes would reunite in the nation’s capital.

Young would join Redskins’ 2019 draft picks Dwayne Haskins and Terry McLaurin in Washington. The trio would be able to finally make the Redskins a respectable franchise again.

Haskins didn’t have a great rookie season, totaling seven touchdowns and seven interceptions in seven starts. However, McLaurin was arguably the best value pick of 2019, securing 919 yards and seven touchdowns.

A second-year Haskins, a dominant McLaurin and now a superstar defensive end in Young has the Redskins’ future looking quite promising.
