Many people said that Chase Young was going to be a generational player when Washington drafted him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and they were absolutely right.
While it may have taken a few game for his stats to live up to the billing, there is no better example of how good Young is than what he did in the first half on Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. In the first two quarters, Young recorded a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble-recovery scooped up and ran 47-yards for a touchdown. It’s the first time in franchise history that a player has done that.
Per Washington PR: With his sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery for a touchdown, Chase Young becomes the first player in franchise history to achieve such a feat, and the eighth rookie in NFL history to do so since 1982.
