Chase Young calls potential to play for Redskins a “blessing”

The Ohio State Buckeyes, both current and former players, may represent the top-three picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

With Joe Burrow likely the top overall selection, potentially heading to Cincinnati, defensive end Chase Young, who set the team’s single-season sack record despite being suspended two games, is expected to the Redskins’ pick at No. 2.

With all top-three picks, the questions of whether or not they truly want to play for that city and that team come pouring in as all three teams won under four games in the 2019 season.

The 6-foot-5 Young didn’t spare any time talking about how much it would mean to him to be taken second overall in the draft, an event that kicks off April 23.

“It would be a blessing,” Young told Redskins’ staff write Zach Selby. “It would mean a lot. Everybody who’s known me since I was little could come to a game.”

Young is widely put on the board at No. 2. Jeff Okudah, in the bulk of mock drafts, comes in at No. 3. Those two spearheaded Ohio State defense, one of the nation’s best.

Not working out at the combine, Young was there primarily for medical and interview purposes.

But never fear. Chase is going to be one of the first players off the board when all the fun kicks off in Vegas.
