Chaser Paul Sinha said a Liverpool contestant could join the show permanently after she impressed him with her knowledge.
Criminology lecturer Clare, 48, told host Bradley Walsh that away from her job she loved to shop for vintage clothes, especially from the 80s.
If she won some cash Clare said she wanted to go to a posh London hotel and have a tasting menu with her husband John.
Clare scored £7,000 in her cash builder and then went up against The Sinnerman, Paul Sinha, who was tonight's Chaser.
Paul was very complimentary and said: "That was very good, if impersonating a chaser was a crime you might be guilty, that was good."
Despite being tempted by the high offer of £35,000 Clare decided to play for the £7,000, despite saying her son Joey would be "fuming" she didn't go high.
Clare managed to get past the Chaser with ease and returned to her team with the £7,000.
Bradley said her battle was "terrific" and Paul confessed he was worried because she'd be good in the final Chase.
And viewers at home were thrilled with Clare's performance and many of them took to social media to compliment her.
