Chase gets an earful from some Lollapalooza hopefuls

March 25--Dozens of people took to Twitter on Tuesday to complain about their inability to use Chase credit cards to buy three-day Lollapalooza passes, which are now sold out.

Single-day passes are still available.

"Due to a systems issue, some customers were unable to purchase Lollapalooza concert tickets," a Chase spokewoman said Tuesday. "We have since fixed the issue and apologize for the inconvenience. Customers should contact us if they have questions or concerns."

Some people tweeted that their attempted purchases didn't go through or were declined because the transactions were flagged as potentially fraudulent. Chase's support team addressed some of the complaints on Twitter.

@RachLynn_Castro tweeted:

"Hey @Chase thanks for nothing! Luckily my friend got me 2 passes for @lollapalooza. Fix your fraud department- festivals are expensive duh."

Chase support replied on Twitter:

"@RachLynn_Castro Your acct security is always a top priority. We apologize if this caused an inconvenience and appreciate your tweet."

@JillBudden blamed Chase's algorithms:

"@Chase get your fraud algorithms on track. You all almost made me lose my #Lollapalooza tickets by incorrectly classifying my purchase!"

Chase responded to her on Twitter:

"It saddens me to hear you had a bad experience. For assistance please follow/DM your name, zip more details."

One would-be concertgoer, @RyneIsMean, vented three times:

"If your @lollapalooza ticket purchase got declined, it was because of @chase and its incompetent fraud protection blocked your purchase.

"Big fails all around this morning due to @lollapalooza @frontgatetix @Chase. Card declined over and over again for 3-day passes.

"Has anyone gotten an answer from @ChaseSupport or @chase about their poor fraud detection screwing over @lollapalooza ticket buyers yet?"

Chase's Twitter account for customers, @chasesupport, responded:

"We'll submit your experience internally for review and let our internal partners know of your concerns."

Bank of America came through for one concert goer, @jessmurray37:

"@Chase did not want me to go to @lollapalooza and kept declining the transaction. Luckily my @bankofamerica card came in clutch!"

Responded @BofA_Help:

"Hi, Jess.That's great to hear! We appreciate your business!"
