Chase fans infuriated by Liverpool student's 'shameful' action

Fans of ITV's The Chase went wild in their reactions to the show tonight as they watched contestant and Scouse student, Caitlin.

She took the minus offer from the Chaser, Mark Labbett, and fans couldn't help but be disappointed.

The student, who studies at Edinburgh Universty, was fourth and final to play in tonight's episode and took the whopping £28,000 prize fund down to £21,000 as she accepted the minus £7,000 offer.

Following Caitlin's actions on Twitter shared their frustration at the show.

Adrian said: "Why the hell do people go to Uni for years to then take the low offer on #thechase? Mind-blowing."

Denise said: "You're supposed to build the pot up not take from it, shame on her and for that I hope the chaser beats them #TheChase."

Cheryl posted: "Imagine going through the pain of childbirth, only for it to grow up and take the minus offer on #TheChase."

The game began well and it looked like the team were in for a huge bonus as first player, 36-year-old Darren went up against the Chaser and brought back a whopping £24,000 to the pot.

Deputy head teacher Mel played next and added an extra £4,000 to the jackpot, totalling it at £28,000.

But then the game went downhill quickly as third player Kiaran tried his luck at the middle offer of £6,000 but was caught by The Chaser and was made to leave the team.

This was when Caitlin took the low minus offer, taking a chunk back out of the prize money and the remaining three team members went up against The Beast once more.

The Chaser was on a roll, getting 17 out of the 18 questions correct in a row giving the team a chance to answer but they sadly answered incorrectly.

Mark went on to answer the final question correctly and the team were caught by The Chaser.

Mark said: "I threw away an 18 perfect there, I'm really annoyed."
