Chase Bank robbed in Munster

The Chase Bank in the 1600 block of West 45th Street was robbed, Aug. 23, 2019, in Munster, In. | Google Maps

A Chase Bank branch was robbed Friday in northwest Indiana.

About 10 a.m., a man entered the Chase branch in the 1600 block of 45th Street in Munster and gave the teller a note demanding money, Munster police said. While he did not show a weapon, he implied that he had one in the note and he made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The bank robber was described as a 6-foot man in his late 20s with a thin build, police said. He was wearing a gray or blue sweatshirt and dark pants at the time of the robbery.

No one was injured, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Munster police at 219-836-6650.
