Chas and Paddy’s Emmerdale baby joy turns to crushing despair

Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk’s baby joy turned to despair in tonight’s Emmerdale.

The couple nervously attended their first baby scan and feared the worst after baby Grace’s tragic death.

Thankfully, the doctor revealed their unborn child was perfectly healthy as they listened to the heartbeat.

Emotional Chas, who waved at her baby on the screen, said: “Have you any idea how precious you are?”

However, there was a heartbreaking turn of events when the expectant parents returned back to the village.

Chas and Paddy arrived home to see the finished memorial garden for baby Grace.

Thanking everyone for they help, Chas said: “You have no idea how much this means to us. Especially finishing it today.”

Paddy told Chas he would make it the most stress-free pregnancy it could be, but the heartwarming moment was ruined by the sound of a big crash.

Paddy, Doug and the Dingles raced outside and were greeted by a shocking sight.

Bear Wolf had arrived into the village with a bang and crashed into Grace’s memorial on his motorbike.

As he groaned from the pain, Bear said: “Howdy folks. Only me.”

Seeing the stunned faces, he added: “And don’t look like that. At least nobody died.”

Bear started laughing but Chas looked heartbroken and Paddy was seething.

Emmerdale viewers took to Twitter to plead with bosses to let Chas and Paddy have a happy ending.

One viewer said: "Loved that scene with Chas & Paddy. After the heartbreak they had last time, they deserve some happiness at last"

"Hope Chas and Paddy get their happy ending," added another.

A third agreed: "I hope Chas & Paddy r allowed 2 b happy this time, i couldn't bare another heartbreaking baby storyline & it'd mean they're incredibly unlucky"
