Chas and Paddy baby news leaves Emmerdale fans 'in tears' after happy announcement

Emmerdale’s Chas and Paddy revealed some happy baby news on Tuesday.

Sadly, the couple lost their first baby, daughter Grace, just hours after she was born in October last year.

She had been diagnosed with bilateral renal agenesis during the pregnancy, and sadly she passed away in her parents’ arms after her birth.

Now, with Chas pregnant again she and Paddy were fearful about the health of their unborn baby, as the 20-week scan approached.

Paddy ended up cancelling the scan thinking it was the right thing to do, only for Chas to discover this and hit out at him.

After some encouragement Chas finally told Paddy her fears, leading to the pair deciding to go ahead with the appointment.

When they got there, they were clearly nervous about what lied ahead, with Chas finding out about Grace’s condition at her own 20-week scan.

But the nurse quickly reassured them, with the news that their baby is perfectly health.

Viewers were left overwhelmed with the confirmation Paddy and Chas’ baby was going to be okay.

As they arrived back home they broke the news to the Dingles, sending them jumping up and down with happiness.

They decided to keep the baby’s gender a secret though, with the truth concealed in an envelope.

In a sweet gesture, the couple visited baby Grace’s grave, telling her their news before asking her to look after the envelope for them.

Fans took to Twitter after the episode admitting they were so happy for them, whilst also “in tears” over the gesture to Grace.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
