Chartered surveyors name six partners among round of 11 promotions

Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has appointed six new partners as part of a round of promotions across its residential and commercial business in Scotland.

Elliot Brown in Dumbarton, Graeme Haywood in Edinburgh and Chris Weir in Dalkeith, who all specialise in residential property advice and valuation, become partners. Alastair Buchanan in Glasgow, Neil Calder in Inverness and Mark McQueen in Aberdeen have also been adopted as partners.

The firm has also promoted five staff to associate. In residential, Angus Carruthers in Montrose, Luke Doyle in Kilmarnock and Michael McDade in Greenock step up, while new commercial associates are Steven Clarke in Edinburgh and Fraser Carson in Dumfries.

George Brewster, senior partner, said: “We remain in an extremely challenging and difficult market where competition is fierce. The fact that we have been able to identify and recognise the achievements of 11 of our own professionals, with six elevations to partner status, is testimony to a tremendous contribution by these individuals over several years. Congratulations to each of them – promotion is hard earned and well-deserved.

“Having merged and integrated the Hardies Property & Construction Consultants business in 2016, the Binnie Mackenzie Partnership in 2018, and this month the QS practice of Alan + Hanel, 2019 has been a year of review and consolidation. However, the youth and energy of the business which has its roots with our graduate recruitment programme is now coming through and contributing across the country."
