Chart‑topping artist launches Democratic campaign bid

Donald Trump Tim Myers

Tim Myers, a founding member of the chart-topping band OneRepublic, has announced his candidacy as a Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor of California.
He shared his intention to run for the state's second-highest-ranking position on Instagram on Monday.
Myers criticized President Donald Trump, labelling him the "real disgrace" after Trump's negative remarks about California.
He said his motivation for running is to "help protect and rebuild the California we love."
