Sandra Oh is the first woman of Asian descent to receive an Emmy nomination for a lead role.
Despite the 2016 #OscarsSoWhite debacle putting the spotlight on Hollywood's lack of racial diversity, a quick scan of this year's Emmys list shows there is still a problem with representation.
Oh was nominated for lead actress in a drama this year for her role in BBC drama Killing Eve, alongside just three other women of colour out of the 18 leading ladies contending awards for their roles in a drama, comedy, or limited series/movie.
Even stretching back just 20 years into the Emmy Awards' seven-decade history, the diversity of nominees in the most coveted categories for actresses has been poor.
Just 27 women of colour have been nominated in these categories since 1999. And only four have won.
