Charlton wait on FA decision over Tomer Hemed signing

Charlton Athletic were on Monday waiting for the Football Association to decide whether they will be allowed to sign Brighton forward Tomer Hemed four days after the transfer window closed.

The Addicks submitted the relevant paperwork for the transfer close to last Thursday’s deadline and claim it went through before the 5pm cut-off.

But Charlton have had to wait to hear if the deal will be given the green light. The FA have been looking into the transfer and a verdict is expected early this week.

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer remains hopeful they will be able to wrap up a permanent deal for Hemed but said at the weekend it was “50-50”.

Hemed, 32, scored seven goals on loan at QPR last season.

Bowyer wants to strengthen his Charlton side who have won their first two games back in the Championship, beating Blackburn at Ewood Park before scoring three against Stoke City at the Valley on Saturday.
