Charlton have received notice of a change in ownership at East Street Investments.

ESI took over the south London club in January, purchasing the club from previous owner Roland Duchatelet.

Tahnoon Nimer and Matt Southall own shares in ESI but the latter has since been moved from his role as executive chairman at the club.

The Addicks are unable to provide any more detail on the change at this time for ‘legal reasons’ but insist the move is a ‘positive step’.

A statement from the club’s board of directors read: “The club has received notice of a change in ownership at East Street Investments (ESI).

“A legal process has to take place for the change in ownership of ESI to be completed.

“This is a positive step for the club and will offer some much-needed stability. For legal reasons, we cannot go into any more detail on the change in ownership.

“We appreciate that supporters will have plenty of questions and, unfortunately, we cannot answer them at this stage.

“We ask for your patience during this process and we will update you as soon as we can.”
