Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has explained the biggest issue surrounding the planned resumption of the season, revealing half his squad are approaching the end of their contracts.
The government's social distancing measures were extended by a further three weeks on Thursday, pushing back any date the 2019/20 season can resume.
While the plan is for the campaign to be completed by extending into the summer months, Bowyer has spoken about the huge issue that needs to be overcome.
"There are so many details that nobody is thinking about and then say you do start playing in the middle of June, you play three games and then you've got six left to go, then you've got the contract problems," he told TalkSport.
"Lyle Taylor, his contract finishes on June 30, if he decides not to extend it, because it's ok UEFA and FIFA saying players have to extend it, but legally they don't have to.
"Taylor, who I guess will be going to another club and getting more money, why would he then risk getting a long-term injury?
"It's not just him, I'm only using him as an example, would they run around and give you everything like they would at any other time and risk having a dream move that will secure him for the rest of his life.
"That's not just my team, we've got 15 that finish on 30th June - six loans and nine players. So are you telling me that players we've told we're not going to extend their contract, then saying we want them for an extra month, they'd think we're joking.
"These are the problems that noone is actually thinking about."
