Charlton Athletic boss reveals huge injury boost with Reds summer target passed fit to haunt Forest

Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer has confirmed that two of his star forwards will return for Tuesday night's clash with Nottingham Forest.

Bowyer's side were beaten 3-1 by relegation rivals Stoke City on Saturday with a number of their first-team stars out of action.

93-cap Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady, missing through illness at the weekend, is expected to make his Charlton debut while Macauley Bonne, linked with Forest in the summer, will make the matchday squad for the first time since picking up a hamstring injury in December.

“Macauley will be on the bench,” Bowyer told London News Online.

“He’ll be back. He’s been training for a few days now, he’s been in and around it. Aiden [McGeady] is the same. He was ill at the weekend.”

Striker Lyle Taylor was rumoured to be a doubt for their clash with Sabri Lamouchi's men, but Bowyer has now cleared the air that his star striker will be fit to feature at the City Ground on Tuesday.

“I spoke to Lyle [Taylor] yesterday and he feels fine - now it is a case of Lyle just cracking on. He’ll be okay to start.”
